Vintage Book Illustrations

You could get lost for hours in all the beautiful images in the Vintage Children's Books pool on Flickr. I can already tell I'm going to be posting lots of them here. To start, this forest scene illustrated by Inge Friebel in 1959 from the book Vom Moritz der kein Schmutzkind mehr sein wollte. (via Cookie)

How cute is this ventriloquist's dummy Halloween costume for baby? (via A Cup of Jo)

Check out these beautiful handmade felt strawberries from Nimblejacks on Flickr. Perfection! (via Junior Society)

Flying Children

German photographer Jan von Holleben makes the magic happen in his series of photographs of children flying and dreaming big. This is Peter Pan and Tinkerbell from his book Dreams of Flying, and you can view the fantastic slide show here. (via Ohdeedoh)

Simplicity Poster

Simplicity really is the key to successful living! Nick Dewar is one of the artists asked by ReadyMade magazine for his modern take on the Depression-era WPA posters, which were funded by the government as part of Roosevelt's plan to get people back to work. This poster and others are available as a free download. (via inchmark)

This illustration of a monster's digestive system from OKIDO, a science magazine for children, is just what I needed to explain Sugartoot's recent belly drama to her. (via Babygadget)

Hooray! No more plastic sandwich bags for little picnics. LunchBots are made from stainless steel, which doesn't leach chemicals into food like plastic does. (via Fake Plastic Fish)

Father and Son Alphabet

I know I always say everything is super cute, but if this video of Job Wouters and his little boy painting the alphabet together isn't super cute, then what is? (via Crooked House)

Lavender Nursery

This is what my nursery was supposed to look like--lavender, white, and cream with antiques, but baby came before the contractors did. Another reason to pop out baby number two! (via Cookie)

So cute! Little traveler makes a passport for his teddy bear, Carmelita. (via Ohdeedoh)

What the World Eats

This is the Ayme family of Tingo, Ecuador, and what a bunch of cute, happy smiley faces they are. Featured on Time.com's "What the World Eats" slide show, their weekly expenditure for food is $31.55. What would your food look like all spread out before you? Ours would be a mountain of pasta. (via Crooked House)

Old Master Portraits

I love, love, love, the blog Crooked House, which I recently discovered. Inspired by photographer Hendrik Kerstens' portraits of his daughter, Stephany took photos of her son Luke posing with diapers and other household items on his head, and they are priceless. Get your camera and your garbage and capture your subject! (via Ohdeedoh)

Crepe Paper Bunny Easter Eggs

Hippity hoppity Easter is on its way, and Martha Stewart has instructions for making these sweet little crepe paper bunny Easter eggs.

Indoor Wooden Slide

I wished for this! IKEA read my mind and created the VIRRE wooden indoor slide. Thank you! I no longer have to hear the saddest, sad voice say, "Slide all wet," as she anticipates my answer to, "Park?"

Make an art gallery of animal shapes by cutting out and framing your wee one's beautiful paintings. (via Tiny Décor)
